Talita Fontainha is a Brazilian-born choreographer, performer, and cultural leader based in Adelaide, South Australia. With over 18 years of international experience, she is renowned for blending traditional Brazilian dance forms with contemporary movement, creating bold, culturally rich performances that celebrate identity, heritage, and innovation.
Before relocating to Australia, Talita choreographed for major global events including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and the FIFA Confederations Cup. Her early international career also includes a debut with Israel’s WOW Show and leading the entertainment team aboard Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Her work centers on amplifying underrepresented voices—particularly of the Afro-Brazilian diaspora—while fostering meaningful cultural connections.
Talita has been officially recognised by the Australian Government as a recipient of the Distinguished Talent visa, acknowledging her outstanding contribution to the arts. She is also the creator of ContemporaRio, and directed a professional development initiative supported by the City of Adelaide, through which she trained emerging artists in Brazilian traditional dance, contemporary movement, and ballet techniques to enrich their repertoire.
A passionate ambassador of Brazilian culture, Talita continues to lead cross-cultural dialogue and artistic innovation through performance, education, and community engagement—solidifying her reputation as a visionary force within Australia’s performing arts landscape.
